Iceland has released a selection of tasty treats that will hit the shelves – or, more accurately, freezers – in advance of Fathers’ Day next week on 21 June.
So, if you’re looking for a way to say thanks to your dad, then how about saying it with a gigantic hunk of meat.
Yes, the ‘Big Daddy’ cheeseburger could be yours – or his – for just £3.
Well, the way to any father’s heart is through his stomach, right? So, why not try to completely ensure that his is filled, because that’s what this burger is going to do.
As well as that, you can get hold of a few other products from the ‘Big Daddy’ range. There’s a sirloin steak and there’s a rump steak.
Hell, if the weather picks up as it’s supposed to, you could sling them all on the barbecue while you have a socially distanced meet-up with your folks in the garden.
The sirloin steak comes in at just £5, which ain’t bad, either. If you’re looking for the rump, that’s also a fiver.
As for when and where you can buy these delicious presents for your dear old man, they’ll be available both online and in Iceland stores as of right now.
In case you’re not sure where your local Iceland store is, you can head across to their website and use their incredibly useful store locator to plot your journey.
The Big Daddy burger – in many ways the centrepiece of the Fathers’ Day feast – features two giant patties, capped off with a gooey cheese centre.
Alongside that, you can get hold of some of the special Iceland hash brown fries, which are £1.50, and a large Warburtons sliced roll for an extra quid.
As for the sirloin steak, that’s a 12oz piece of meat which, for a fiver, is a pretty good deal. But wait, the rump steak is 16oz for the same price.
On top of that, you could get some of the battered onion rings, or the steak cut chips – because what else do you put with a good steak? – and top it off with a mac and cheese.
David Lennox, Iceland’s head chef, said: “Iceland’s Big Daddy range really is an indulgent treat for Father’s Day – it’s a once-a-year opportunity to treat dads and it calls for a seriously big burger or steak to match the occasion.”
